2008 DAY CAMPs

For Ages 7 –12:

They Came from Outer Space
August 8 from 12:30-5:30


Campers will design alien costume pieces and perform some numbers that are out of this world. The aliens will present a short performance at 5:00 for family and friends.

Home on the Range (September camp just added!!)
August 5 or September 6 from 12:30-5:30


Campers will create cowboy or cowgirl costume pieces and croon some great country-western tunes. The cowpokes will present a short performance at 5:00 for family and friends.

These workshops are $35 per child, per workshop and includes workshop,
t-shirt, take home crafts, and snacks. Enrollment is limited, please call

For Ages 13 – 18:

Theatre Tech: Scene Painting
August 7 12:00-5:00 pm or
September 13 4:00-9:30 pm

Campers will learn a number of different set painting techniques and will create a mini-flat to take home and display. There will also be a behind the scenes tour of The Old Creamery’s facilities and the opportunity to have a
Q & A session with some of the theatre’s artistic staff members.

The Thursday, August 7th workshop runs from 12:00 p.m. to approximately 5:00 p.m. and includes attending a performance of Clue: The Musical at 3:00 p.m.

The Saturday, September 13th workshop runs from 4:00 p.m. to approximately 9:30 p.m. and includes attending a performance of Leaving Iowa at 7:30 p.m. Campers are asked to bring a sack lunch with them as we will be taking a dinner break during the workshop.


This workshop is $45 per child, per workshop and includes workshop, supplies,
t-shirt, and admission to a performance at The Old Creamery Theatre. Enrollment is limited, please call 319-622-6034 to make reservations.

2008 WEEK-LONG CAMPs

For Ages 7 – 15:

A Star is Born
July 7 through 12 from 10:00 am - 2:30 pm

Camp Creamery “A Star is Born” is a week-long workshop for children who are interested in exploring the exciting world of theatre. The camp is designed to give children ages 7-15 the opportunity to work and perform with professional actors from The Old Creamery Theatre Company.

Camp Creamery encourages children to discover their creative side by mastering theatrical techniques while performing selections from favorite Broadway musicals and movies.

Rehearsals for “A Star is Born” will run from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday, July 7 through Friday, July 11 at the Lutheran Interparish School in Williamsburg, Iowa. Campers are asked to bring a sack lunch with them to rehearsal each day. The camp will culminate in a Cabaret-style show performed on Saturday, July 12 at 11:30 a.m. at The Old Creamery Theatre’s main stage in Amana, Iowa (campers must arrive at 10:00 a.m.).

Cost for the week-long program is $100 per child and includes a Camp Creamery T-shirt and at least 5 tickets per child to the final performance. All rehearsals and the final performance are mandatory to participate in the camp.

CAMP CREAMERY WEEK LONG EVENTS
The Old Creamery Theatre Company requires a host organization for our week long camps. Up to 60 children can participate each week. Camp typically lasts 4 1/2 hours per day, Monday-Friday with a final performance on Friday and/or Saturday.
